    Description

This is an extremely hard-to-find original brass equipment tag that is embossed "
Gollmar Bell Ringer Co., Patented April 7, 1891, Baraboo, Wis.
" It is nickel-plated and measures 7/8" x 2-5/8". This is an unused factory tag that would have been attached to the Gollmar Bell Ringer on a steam locomotive. Originally, steam train bells were rung with a rope or chain but this new system would ring the bell using steam power. This is a little known company from Baraboo, Wisconsin that is almost impossible to find memorabilia from. Came out of an estate of the Gollmar Circus and I'm guessing one of their relatives owned the Gollmar Bell Ringer Co.
