Beautiful, Frameable, Rare map of the United States in 1855 by G.H. Swanston.
This is a rare detailed partially colored map unlike most maps of the time

Detailed map of the United States, including early territorial borders in the Transmississippi West. Massive Nebraska Territory extends to Texas and Indian Territory, which is oddly configured.
Pre-Gadsden Purchase border with Mexico. Oregon and Washington extend to the Rocky Mountains. Massive Minnesota Territory, pre-dating Dakota.
New Mexico and Utah run from California to the Rocky Mountains.

Also the map shows bays, ports, towns and more
as well as light
topographical details. The map is finished off with a miles scale and a large title cartouche. The Map size is 18 1/2 X 23.
This is part of the Kit Kapp Collection. We have recently purchased several thousand maps, historical documents and pictures from the family of Kit Kapp. He was a very famous map collector, author, and cartographer. Many of these maps were priced by him prior to 2009. These are priced for what they are a priceless antique collectible. This map has sold for 0 online and we are selling it for less due to minor imperfections. In most cases we will start the price at or lower than his prices with a buy it now option.
