Antique map of the Asia Minor and surrounding countries ( 1835 ) by T.G. Bradford
. This is a very rare, detailed, partially colored map of the time. It show how the area was at the time including a small part of the Ottoman Empire in Europe. The Map also includes 3 major bodies of water currently known as The Black Sea, The Adriatic Sea and The Mediterranean Sea, it also gives their names at the time. The bottom part of this map shows Arabia, Africa, and Libya. The modern names on the map are underscored. Since the Ottoman Empire is on the map here i a little history on it. The Ottoman Empire started in 1299 and lasted till 1923. It is know as one of the longest lasting empires and is more commonly called " The Roman Empire ". The Ottoman Empire in Europe started its decline in 1918-1920 and officially ended 1922 when the title of Ottoman Sultan was eliminated. This map has many towns, ports and bays as well as topographical details like the mountains. The
map is finished off with a block style black title cartouche. Map
size is 10 x 13.
